Red Hat and edX.org continue partnership with release of Fundamentals of Java EE Development course

We are excited to announce the release of a new Red Hat course on edX, the massively open online course platform founded by MIT and Harvard. The latest course, an introduction to Java EE using Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio and Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, is available free of charge to anyone signed up on the edX community at edX.org.

Through hands-on labs, students will transform a simple Java SE command line into an enterprise application that uses various Java EE specifications, including Enterprise Java Beans, Java Persistence API, and JAX-RS for REST services. This course will benefit developers that already have a strong foundation in Java SE and want to progress in learning the enterprise-level skills and concepts needed to build enterprise-level applications in Java.

Fundamentals of Java EE Development teaches how to build multi-tiered Java EE applications, create Enterprise Java Beans, and create REST services with JAX-RS. Students can also expect to learn skills such as packaging and deployment of Java EE applications and management of application persistence.

We are pleased to partner with edX to make this content available to anyone looking to learn about our technology. As a leading provider of massive open online courses that is both nonprofit and open source, edX aligns well with Red Hat’s open source development model and culture. Through this partnership, Red Hat Training + Certification has been able to help thousands of IT professionals learn new skills and boost their knowledge of open source.
