How to Engage with Training and Certification at Red Summit 2018

The Red Hat Training and Certification team has been busy preparing for Red Hat Summit.  We hope that you will plan to join us for as many of the training and certification activities as possible! The team will be located in the Customer Success Zone at the Moscone West 2nd floor lobby. Here are a few activities that we wanted to highlight so you can put them on your schedule:

 

FEATURED HIGHLIGHTS:

Want to bring home a Nintendo Switch? Participate in the Break-fix Challenge

Battle it out against other conference attendees to win each day of Summit. The challenges will change each day, giving you 3 chances to win. Scores will be cast to a live leaderboard in the area. The fastest person to fix the broken code each day will go home with a Nintendo Switch.

Become a founding member of the Red Hat Learning Community

Join a network of Red Hat professionals looking to learn from and share with their peers. Register at our booth in the Customer Success Zone to become a founding member and be the first to get Red Hat Learning Community swag.

 

MAY 7

Power Training

Moscone South | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. PT

The first day of onsite Power Training. 8 courses are available for a deeper dive into specific topic. Each course is 2 days long from May 7-8, 2018, starting the day before the main conference. Add power training to your full conference pass.

 

Power Training Reception

Moscone South | 5:15 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. PT

Power training attendees are invited to attend the reception Monday night for drinks, appetizers, and networking with attendees and instructors. The reception will be from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Moscone South near the power training rooms.

 

MAY 8

The Red Hat Certified Professional of the Year

Moscone West  | 8:30 8:30 a.m.–9:45 a.m. PT

Summit opens with a general session keynote delivered by Jim Whitehurst, Red Hat CEO. Jim will announce the winner of the 2018 Red Hat Certified Professional of the Year award. Join us in congratulating this year’s winner!

 

Power Training

Moscone South |  10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PT

The second day of onsite power training will start later, following the opening keynote. 8 courses are available for a deeper dive into specific topic. Each course is 2 days long from May 7-8, 2018, starting the day before the main conference.

 

Training and Certification Mixer

Moscone West 2nd floor lobby | Customer Success Zone | 3:00 pm PT

Join the training and certification team for a happy hour in the customer success zone before the welcome reception. We will be giving away Red Hat Summit Training and Certification shirts and other prizes while they last.

 

Red Hat Certified Professional Reception

Moscone Center West on Howard Street |  arrive at 5:45 –10:30 p.m. PT

Red Hat® Training and Certification is hosting an exclusive reception for all Red Hat Certified Professionals. Spend the evening with your peers aboard a yacht sailing the San Francisco Bay. We will provide transportation from the Moscone Center to the yacht. Meet outside of Moscone Center West on Howard St. at 5:45 p.m.  Buses will leave promptly at 6:30 p.m. Reserve your spot.

IMPORTANT – Space is limited to 350 guests and registration is required. You must have a Red Hat Certification ribbon attached to your Red Hat Summit badge to attend.  We are almost at capacity so please register soon if you are planning to attend. Once we are at capacity we will still accept registrations but priority will be given to the first 350 that registered.

 

MAY 9

Get Certified at Summit

Onsite Red Hat Certification exams at Red Hat Summit are limited to 20 students per session and can be added on as part of your official conference registration. Exams scheduled for Wednesday include:

Red Hat Certified System Administrator exam (EX200/RHCSA) | 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. PT

Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation exam (EX407) |  12:30 -4:30pm. PT

 

Red Hat Certification Happy Hour

Moscone West 2nd floor lobby | Customer Success Zone | 3:00 pm PT

Join us at the Certification Help desk in the Customer Success Zone for a happy hour and special gift for attendees. Supplies are limited, so mark your calendar. The team will be available to answer questions about the Red Hat Certification program.

 

MAY 10

Onsite Certification Exams

Onsite Certification exams at Red Hat Summit are limited to 20 students per session and can be added on as part of your official conference registration. Exams scheduled for Thursday include:

Red Hat Certified Engineer exam (EX300/RHCE) | 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. PT

 

ALL WEEK DURING SUMMIT

Red Hat Learning Subscription Trial

Come test drive the Red Hat Learning Subscription and see for yourself how you can train across all Red Hat Technologies. Our station is located in the training and certification section of the Customer Success Zone.

Take a Red Hat Skills Assessment

Assess your skills on Red Hat technologies at Red Hat Summit. We will have a station available at the certification help desk in the customer success zone where you can take any of the 10 skills assessments and get recommendations for training and certification.

ROI Calculator

A recent IDC study showed customers can receive up to a 5:1 ROI on their Red Hat technology investments with Red Hat Training. Come visit us in the Customer Success Zone to see what your ROI could be.

Red Hat Certified Professional Store

Purchase Red Hat Certification branded merchandise at the Red Hat Certification Store located next to Red Hat Summit registration. If you have pre ordered merchandise, be sure to bring identification and a print out of your order confirmation.

Red Hat Certification Help Desk

The Red Hat Certification team is hosting a help desk at Summit located at the Moscone West 2nd floor lobby. The team will be available to answer questions about the Red Hat Certification program.  Attendees that are Red Hat Certified are able to visit the help desk to get a ribbon to add to your Summit badge. The ribbons are required to attend the Red Hat Certified Professional reception on Tuesday, May 8th.
