At the Red Hat Open Innovation Labs, we’re excited about the theme for this year’s Red Hat Summit, the Power of the Individual. It’s a theme that drives us on the Labs team every day as we execute on our mission to accelerate the delivery of our customer’s innovative ideas. A key element of our success to date has been to build and maintain a DevOps culture, which is why we’re presenting a session at Red Hat Summit called “The Open Innovation Labs DevOps Experience.” We’ll discuss the key behaviors and processes we’ve put into place, how we’re using tools like Ansible and OpenShift, and ultimately how this leads to an immersive experience we can offer to your team.

The desired outcome of a well designed CI/CD pipeline is confidence in the software delivery process so that releases can be done at any time. And in fact a deployment in production becomes a non-event.

Accelerating Time To Value In The New Digital Economy

Today, most organizations have significant internal datasets and digital services. These resources have the potential to be converted into new revenue streams by securely exposing them to customers and partners as web services. The availability of a number of open source web service frameworks, has meant that it has never been easier to develop RESTful APIs and expose these resources to customers. This allows organizations to validate an idea or hypothesis and capture customer feedback in a matter of weeks or possibly even days.

The innovative experience of presenting at Gartner Symposium #GartnerSym

It is only on rare occasions that you get the benefit of experiencing yourself the message you are delivering as a speaker at a conference.  The Gartner ITXPO Symposium where I delivered the session on Technology Innovation driving Business Differentiation was one such occasion.  Even though I had submitted an abstract about my session several weeks back, the actual content of my presentation continued to grow and take shape even after the conference keynotes had been delivered.  For you see, Collaboration — as Gartner asserts — drives the best form of innovation.  Let us just say, that the environment at the Gartner conference was such that there was a continuous injection of innovative themes, ideas and concepts that resulted in thought provoking interactions — including a casual conversation I had with Chief Gartner Fellow, Daryl Plummer who delivered one of the keynotes.
